God*s goodness is so far superior to our goodness that our goodness is not goodness at all. It is not the goodness of God. The poorest people are those who do not experience the goodness of God. We have the privilege of continuing in His goodness (living in it). Romans 11:22: Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.We can have pleasure in His goodness. Unbelievers think that we believers have no pleasure. I trust that you know how wrong they are. This should be our prayer for ourselves and for others: 2 Thessalonians 1:11: Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:Are you rejoicing in the goodness of God and continuing in it? If not, receive Jesus into your heart and life and get started in His goodness. You cannot continue in it until you get started in it. |
